PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
McCowan has a diverse background in psychological services. During his internship, he served the homeless in Johnson County, Texas, as well as homeless Veterans at the Patriot House in Fort Worth, Texas.
Shawn also served adult and adolescent patients at Rock Prairie Behavioral Health, an inpatient and outpatient mental health facility in College Station, Texas.
McCowan established and served in the Clinical Director and clinical services roles at Still Creek Ranch, a Christian residential academy for at-risk children in Bryan, Texas. He also served the juvenile offender population for several counties in Texas.
Shawn McCowan earned his Master's Degree in Psychology from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Columbia College.
McCowan is currently completing his doctoral studies to earn his PhD. in Theology Psychology from Liberty University.
McCowan served 20 years in various missions with the U.S. Air Force. He deployed to Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Germany, and was mobilized at home station several other times. He served as an advisor to commanders in Information Operations, as well as Public Affairs, Protocol, and as a First Sergeant.
Shawn is also a licensed Baptist Minister and has served in several churches in many capacities.
